NCI's Executive Coordinator Deirdre Lane met with the Minister of State For Nature Christopher O'Sullivan, of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in the Houses of the Oireachtas to discuss our work and our recent report with the Irish Environmental Network.

NCI were invited to meet with the Minister alongside National Parks & Wildife Services' Deirdre Lynn and Áinle Ní Bhriain, and Irish Environmental Network policy analyst Aoife Ní Lochlainn, and Agriculture & Land Use Policy & Advocacy Officer Fintan Kelly to discuss our expert report on the High-level Recommendations for Funding Nature Restoration in Ireland

As well as 7 key recommendations for nature restoration funding, the report urges that natural capital accounting can be incorporated into national accounts across departments and sectors to inform decision-making and policy by truly valuing the benefits that nature provides.

We were also lucky enough to meet and share insights on the report with Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman, pictured below, with Fintan and Aoife of IEN.
